Chiat\Emilio\DAY

I was very excited  when I was asked to put up some work at Chiat\Day. The amount of wall was endless really. It was a good chance to do some larger pieces than I normally do. The down side to all this is that the show isn’t very open to the public so the only way you can see it is if you can make your way into Chiat\Day. So I tried my best to get some pictures to show.

I did 3 larger gouache paintings on one wall one which is the show flier piece and here is another one called “Wanna See a Dead Body”.

The Sci-fi/Mad Max in space series on another wall. I added a few new pieces to this series from last time it was up at a show. One of the new ones is this one called “I Lost You in the Clouds” which is based off the awesome movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Final wall is covered in these line drawings on Blue print paper. There is a fun little concept to these where they are quick ideas I had, on blueprint paper which is used for ideas for future projects, and I  thought it would be a good idea to have these in an ad agency in hope that they would generate new ideas.  BLAH.

Find your way inside and take a look. I had a great time doing the new work and installing this whole show. Thanks. If you are interested in one of these pieces, would like to see more, or to just say hello please contact me .

This is an illustration I did for this bicycle magazine based out in the UK. I did an illustration for a poem at the end that told a story about a lady trying to keep up with a car in traffic, shirtless of all things. Its a very rad magazine. Even though it is based out of the UK it still manages to cover bike culture around the world not just in the UK. Its a very cool, fun magazine, and its well designed front to back. Keep an eye out for it. Issue 4!

As a fun note. So usually when I paint, I have these strips where i test my colors and what not. Ive been collecting them recently and they look like mini abstract paintings. I can actually tell which strip went with what painting based on the colors. I can almost see the painting really. They would look awesome over a couch in some fancy modern looking doll house dont you think? I wouldn’t mind donating them to a doll house in exchange of pictures of them in the house.
